For a current Great Britain category B licence, category BE permits a trailer up to 3,500 kg maximum authorised mass. The towing vehicle's own train-weight and manufacturer limits may be lower and must also be obeyed. Heavier combinations require the appropriate entitlement, which can include C1+E rather than only the archive's CE or DE examples.
