All vehicles need parking lights on a road limited to more than 30 mph. On a road limited to 30 mph or less, only the vehicle classes listed in Rule 250 may park without lights under its stated location conditions: a recognised parking place or lay-by, or at least 10 metres from a junction, close to the kerb and facing with traffic. Other vehicles, trailers and projecting loads still need lights.
