Follow the manufacturer’s service schedule, including the correct filters, fuel and oil. Restricted air filters, dragging brakes, pressure leaks and fuel leaks can waste fuel. Report defects and arrange proper repair; extra tyre under-inflation or aggressive acceleration is not an economy measure.
