Call 999 and apply firm direct pressure with a sterile dressing or clean non-fluffy cloth when nothing is embedded. Use protective gloves if available. Do not remove an embedded object or press directly on it: apply pressure to either side and follow emergency advice. Keep monitoring the casualty while help is coming.
