Cool the burn under cool running water for at least 20 minutes. Remove loose clothing or jewellery near it, but never material stuck to the burn. Do not use ice, cream or grease, or burst blisters. After cooling, cover loosely as advised and obtain medical help; serious burns need urgent care.
