Before uncoupling, choose ground that is level and firm enough to support both landing legs. Follow the trailer-specific safe procedure, apply the brakes and provide adequate lighting. A surface need not be concrete or marked with bays to be suitable, but shelter alone does not prevent sinking or tipping.
