A child under three needs an approved child seat appropriate to their size for an ordinary car journey, not an adult’s arms or an adult belt alone. Follow the seat’s approval, size limits and fitting instructions. Height-based seats must face rearwards until the child is over 15 months. Never put a rear-facing child seat in front of an active passenger airbag.
