Look and plan ahead, reduce speed early and use the brakes progressively. Harsh braking can throw standing or moving passengers forward; abrupt acceleration can also unbalance them. Prepare for a long-standing green light to change instead of racing it. Passenger comfort does not remove the need for an emergency stop when a real danger demands one.
