Category C covers large goods vehicles with a trailer up to 750 kg maximum authorised mass. Category D covers buses with more than eight passenger seats and a trailer up to 750 kg MAM. D1 is limited to 16 passenger seats and eight metres length, so it does not cover an ordinary bus with 25 seats. A heavier trailer needs the corresponding E entitlement. Check the actual licence and any restriction codes before driving.
