A high-risk drink-driving offender must satisfy DVLA that they are fit to drive again, including an examination by one of its appointed doctors. The assessment can include medical and alcohol-use history, a physical examination and blood testing. Completing the ban alone is not automatic medical clearance, and DVSA is not the licensing authority.
