Know the lift, ramp, kneeling system and any approved manual backup before service. Check the equipment and carry any required tool. Operate it safely and return it to its secure travelling position. A fault justifies refusing unsafe boarding, not automatic refusal if a safe backup or other safe method is available. Do not improvise a hazardous lift of a passenger or wheelchair.
