Cold diesel can form wax crystals that restrict filters and fuel flow, making the engine run poorly or stop. Suitable fuel, approved cold-flow additives and correctly specified fuel heating can reduce this risk. Waxing is not the same as water freezing. Follow the engine and fuel-system instructions; do not add petrol, coolant or improvised heat. A fuel heater is not a cab heater.
