The air dryer is fitted between the compressor and reservoirs. It removes moisture and contaminants before they enter the remaining brake system, helping prevent freezing and valve faults. It does not dry the intake air before compression. A dryer does not excuse ignored low-pressure warnings or missed maintenance.
