For the stated goods vehicle over 7.5 tonnes, ordinary overtaking in the right-hand lane is allowed on a two-lane motorway when safe and legal. The right-hand lane of a motorway with three or more lanes is prohibited except in prescribed circumstances. Rule 265 defines the different goods, passenger and trailer categories precisely.
