How it works

The method, and the numbers behind it

Set your licence, test date and daily study time. The plan suggests what to study, and an evidence-based estimate helps you judge your progress. It is not a guarantee of a test result.

Setting up asks three questions

Each one changes what tomorrow looks like. All three can be changed later, and everything shifts with them.

  1. Which licence you are sitting

Car, motorcycle, lorry and bus, or ADI part one. Progress is kept separately for each, so looking at another one costs you nothing.

  2. When your test is

Sessions are built backwards from that date: breadth while there is time, then the things you keep getting wrong. “Not booked yet” paces you instead of counting down.

  3. How long you have each day

15 minutes, 30 or 45. The setting is a budget, and a session is composed to fit inside it rather than trimmed to look as though it did.

A session is a budget, not a list

Questions are assigned an estimated study cost and composed within your chosen budget. Your actual reading and answering time can differ.

30 minutes a day30 min536The rules and signs behind its questions, then the questions
45 minutes a day45 min754The rules and signs behind its questions, then the questions

The “questions at most” column is what a session holds with nothing else due, which is what a recap day looks like. Minutes are estimated and floored, never rounded up. They are a planning budget, not a timer that ends your study.

Daily sessions use reviewed question-to-rule, sign and marking relationships, and every session length may include them: the setting decides how much fits, never which kinds appear. A session can also hold a hazard clip when an eligible server assignment is available, and a 3D drive on the two reviewed Car lessons that have one. Recap sessions are due questions and nothing else. No explainer clips exist, and no Motorcycle, LGV/PCV or ADI lesson has a 3D drive, so neither is promised here.

What comes back, and when

A question climbs a ladder as you get it right, and each rung buys a longer gap before you see it again. That is the whole of why this takes less time than reading the bank twice.

The rungs

  • Get one wrong, anywhere in the app, and it is back the next day.
  • Get it right on the day it is due and you do not see it for 3 days, then 7 days, then a single check 21 days after that.
  • A question you never get wrong is seen 4 times in total, and is then finished for good.
  • The clock is study days in that licence, not calendar days. A fortnight on motorcycle questions does not leave a wall of overdue car ones.
  • A correct answer before the question is due does not move it. It keeps its existing due study day; a wrong answer still resets it.

One number, and what it refuses to do

The predicted score answers the only question anybody revising for a theory test actually has. It is built to be under-confident rather than encouraging.

86%

Car multiple-choice pass mark

The published threshold for this example licence. Other licences have their own thresholds, and ADI also has band minima.

90%

Car ready threshold

The estimate needs a margin above the pass mark, enough evidence and coverage across topics. It is not an official test result.

60

Answers before it will guess

Below that it says how many more it needs. It never fills the gap with a number it cannot stand behind.

The estimate uses your answer history, topic coverage and how well you retain questions over time. Repeating the same question today does not create another full day of evidence. Its projected ready date is a planning estimate, not a guarantee.

Timed revision-bank mocks

The published multiple-choice question counts, pass thresholds and time limits guide these papers. They do not yet reproduce the official video, case-study or hazard-perception sections.

Lorry and bus use the published Driver CPC part 1 multiple-choice format. ADI part one is banded as well as marked out of a total: you have to reach a minimum in each band, and the mock shows both. Individual hazard clips are available separately for practice, not as a full hazard paper.

Repeat revision-bank mocks are included during current free study, and every attempt uses the same marking.

When something will not load

Three failures have one rule between them, and it is stated here rather than discovered.

A 3D drive will not start

The player explains that the scene is unavailable and offers a retry or a return to the catalogue. Drives are separate from your daily question session.

You have no signal

The mobile app includes questions, signs and the Highway Code, and downloaded hazard clips play offline. The website may need a connection to load pages or a new session. Saved progress syncs when the connection returns.

We cannot check your subscription

A temporary failure does not declare your subscription cancelled. Existing cached access has a limited trust window; after that, protected activities ask you to reconnect so access can be verified.

Your work is yours, and an account is an upgrade

Nothing on this site is behind a sign-up wall, and nothing you have done is ever taken away by a subscription ending.

Without an account

  • Every question, sign and rule, from the first visit
  • A session a day, and your predicted score
  • Your answers saved locally first and synced under an anonymous identity when the service is available
  • A car bank of 746 questions to work through

What an account adds

  • Your plan and completed answers and results on devices signed into the same account, after sync
  • A predicted score built from the synced evidence
  • Flagged questions available after sync; unfinished sessions and mock drafts stay on the device where they started
  • Signing up does not start you again — it attaches to the work you have already done
